Win a Science and Robotics prize for your school!

ABOUT THE COMPETITION

At Rowville Secondary College we actively involve our students in decision making. As members of our local education community we want your input and help in designing our new playground which will be located next to our brand new Year 7 Commons at the Western Campus.

Playgrounds help develop strong bodies and minds!

What kind of playground would you like to see and enjoy?

THE DETAILS:

Entry is open to Grades 3 & 4 and 5 & 6.

Design a playground that includes some or all of the following:

  • Helps you accept the unexpected (think about Alice in Wonderland who went down a rabbit hole and kept finding unexpected things…)
  • Makes your mind fit and healthy as well as your body
  • Helps you be brave and take risks safely
  • Helps you feel confident and fills you with positive emotions
  • Allows you to see things from a different perspective
  • Encourages you to work together with others
  • Creates opportunities to set goals as you navigate your way through
  • Gives you the chance to practice a new skill over and over to help you reach your own personal targets.

Your submission must include:

  • Your idea presented as a 3D model – use whatever materials you have available: sticky tape, icy pole sticks, cardboard rolls, clay etc.
  • Explanation of how the users of your playground can be curious and become more powerful thinkers while making their bodies strong and healthy at the same time.
