FOUR Italian exchange students departed recently, after spending two months at Rowville Secondary College.

Andry, Chiara, Elena and Francesca had a memorable cultural learning experience in Australia and at the College, according to Italian teacher, Franca Moretti.

“The students attended regular classes in the subjects of their choice and also took part in excursions around the Melbourne CBD,” she said.

“The Italian students have definitely improved their English skills and have also been part of a different education system compared to their own in Italy.”

Moretti admits the farewells were emotional, but the four plan to return to Australia again soon.

“The Italian students have made many new friendships during their time at RSC and saying farewell was very difficult,” she said.

“Andry, Chiara, Elena and Francesca have all safely arrived back home in Italy and many are already thinking about their return to Australia. They are also are awaiting our arrival in Italy.”

Moretti wished to thank the host families which made for a successful stay for the four students.

“A big thank-you to the awesome host families (the Korke, Lillie, McLaren & Storey families) who were willing to take an exchange student into their home and provide them with many fantastic opportunities to visit Melbourne and other places in Victoria,” she said.

“Thanks to everyone involved in making this Italian student exchange a memorable and successful experience for everyone involved.”
