In Term 3 we headed to Camp Adanac for Music Camp for 3 days. With 80 students from Year 7-12, from both the East and West campus, we packed the truck full of musical instruments, loaded the buses and departed for our three day adventure. On arriving at camp, we were taken into the rehearsal space where we started to get organised with setting up rehearsal area and finding our cabins, but most importantly commencing the annual game of Music Gotcha.

With the organisational tasks out of the way, it was time to start rehearsing. Three hours of rehearsal on the first day and 4 -5 hours of rehearsal on the second day meant lots of playing music as the three concert bands, two choirs, two guitar groups and big band all commenced new repertoire, which will be performed at our Semester Two music night at the end of this term.

Students were amazed with how much was accomplished when we had such focused rehearsals over the two days. Junior Concert Band even asked if we could have rehearsals every day at school when we returned.

It was not all hard work however, with fun activities including flying fox, low ropes and a climbing wall, as well as night activities including trivia and karaoke, games activities and a movie. A definite highlight was, as always, the Gaga pit with Music Gotcha and the Gaga pit combining to determine the winner. At the conclusion of the camp, we were very excited to again have the families return to our end of camp concert where we performed what we had learnt over the three days. Our thanks to all staff and students who made the camp such a success and for those who came to visit us at camp.
