Interview with our School Vice-Captain

Name – Georgia Hilder
Title – School Vice-Captain Eastern Campus
Program – Rowville Sports Academy

1. As School Vice-Captain, what are you most excited about this year?

I am most excited for working with a group of individuals who are very similar to me, yet have their own opinions, so that we all get along very well but we can ultimately come up with the best decisions for the school community. I’m also excited about working with the whole school to be the best possible school that we can be.

2. What do you love about Rowville Secondary College?

I love coming to school to see all the different kinds of people, when I look around there isn’t just one specific type, it is very inclusive. I also love the sports academy, it allows me to come to school everyday and practice doing something that I love.

3. What changes would you like to put in place to make RSC better for all students?

I would like to change the inclusiveness of school activities, although they are already very good, I think that they are very sports specific. I think if we made them more arts specific more students would feel much more involved.

4. How do you feel about this year’s school theme ‘Respect’ – what do you think you will do day-to-day to action this?

I think this year’s school theme is fantastic, and even though it’s something so simple, I think we forget to practice it, or our days become too busy for us to even recognise that we’ve let the idea slip away. With this new theme it continues to help everyone realise that maybe what they are doing isn’t so respectful, and helps to fix it. On a day-to-day basis I think I will simply open my mind to the fact that everybody is different, and therefore they are going to have different viewpoints to me. I think the best thing for me to do is to respect that and listen to what they have to say, regardless of my point of view.
