Interview with our School Vice-Captain

Name – Ivanka Sugamar
Title – School Vice-Captain Western Campus
Program – Rowville General Excellence

1. As School Vice-Captain, what are you most excited about this year?

As a School Vice-Captain, I am most excited about being given the responsibility to help make decisions that will benefit Rowville Secondary College and continue to help it grow as a school. As well as getting to work with fellow captains and other school leaders.

2. What do you love about Rowville Secondary College?

What I love most about Rowville Secondary College is the diversity of its students. Rowville is full of so many different types of people, cultures and ethnicities, I feel like I’m always learning about new things and developing new friendships. I also really like how supportive teachers are in helping students pursue different pathways.

3. What changes would you like to put in place to make RSC better for all students?

Some things I would like to change to make Rowville Secondary College a better place for all students is student involvement/voice. I believe that if students feel as if they have an opportunity to have a say in how they learn, among other decisions, they are most likely to have a better attitude towards their school.

4. How do you feel about this year’s school theme ‘Respect’ – what do you think you will do day-to-day to action this?

This year’s theme of respect is something I am really passionate about. I believe respect is an important value that we all should give and expect to receive from other people. This year especially I will try to show respect through my actions whether it’s something as simple as using manners or going out of my way to make sure people feel valued.
