Interview with our Vice Captain

Name – Maverick Taylor
Title – Vice Captain Eastern Campus
Program – AFL Football (RSA)

1. As school captain or vice-captain, what are you most excited about this year?

I am most excited about leading by example to show mainly the junior school how a Rowville secondary College student should act and the effort required to be successful in school or in life goals. I am also excited to be someone other students can look up too, when in need of help, or look for – when in need of a friend.

2. What do you love about Rowville Secondary College?

What I love is the new house system and learning mentor session. I feel these things have brought everyone that attends Rowville or works at Rowville closer together and gives people a reason to get out of bed in the morning and enjoy coming to school.

3. What changes or implementations would you like to put in place to make RSC better for all students?

I feel like students in RSA are not getting enough ‘study sessions’. Two periods a fortnight is not enough time dedicated at school to study. I think 1 period a week or fortnight of our training should be dedicated to study.

4. How do you feel about this year’s school theme ‘This is us’ – what do you think you will do day-to-day to action this?

I think with the theme ‘this is us’ rather than ‘this is me’ will bring the whole Rowville community closer by everyone putting in a big team effort to make everyone feel included and successful instead of feeling like you are on your own competing against your classmates.
