The atEAST School Based Apprentice & Traineeship (SBAT) Awards night was held on Tuesday this week with Rowville students well-represented among the award recipients.

Rowville students gained 37 of the 90 awards presented on the night.

atEAST is a consortium of nine schools with 220 students – the night is to acknowledge the achievements of the students in all three areas of the program, including school, training and work.

·         Alex Simic – Completed Certificate IV Hospitality Operations (1st students to complete in 19 years) and 2nd Year Trainee

·         Jake Siewert – Certificate III Electrotechnology Achievement Award

·         Riley Skinner – Certificate III Landscape Construction Achievement Award

·         Jack Sullivan Baragwanath – Completion Certificate III Civic Construction

·         Luke Wheatcroft – Certificate III Electrotechnology 2nd Year Apprentice

·         Kane Young – Certificate III Carpentry Achievement Award

·         Jayden Zimmerling – Certificate III Electrotechnology 1st Year Apprentice

Glenn Fankhauser was also acknowledged as a founding member of atEAST from 1997 until he went on leave at the end of 2015.

Glenn has always been a strong support of the atEAST program and providing accommodation when atEAST was established.

Julie Kennedy presented the inaugural Glenn Fankhauser Recognition Award in recognition of a student who has achieved above and beyond expectations (pictured, top right).

Jack Schulz Perkins (pictured below) was presented with the overall 1st Year Apprentice of the Year (awarded to the top apprentice across the nine schools and more than 12 apprenticeship industries), by the Chair of atEast, Eva McMaster.
