Rowville Sports Academy golfers Jasper Stubbs and Kieran Vogels have propelled the boys’ Victorian team to victory in School Sport Australia’s National Golf Championships in South Australia.

The championship is Victoria’s first since 1997, breaking a drought which has seen New South Wales and Queensland dominate over the past 18 years.

In tough conditions in the Fleurieu Peninsula, gale force winds challenged the golfers in the second half of the tournament.

Stubbs opened strongly in the first round, with a total of 72, while Vogels registered 76, while the second round saw Stubbs shoot 81 to finish on 153, while Vogels shot 74 to register a total of 150 at Goolwa’s South Lakes Golf Club.
