All four programs at Rowville Secondary College require you to complete the DET Primary Schools transition application form. We request that you submit this application form to your Primary school by the deadline given. We request that section 4 of the application form be completed with Rowville Secondary College as your first choice with your chosen program indicated. For example ‘Rowville Secondary College – RSA’.

With regards to your school preferences which need to be submitted in section 4 of the application form, if you are still unsure whether your child has met the required standard in their Specialist Application and do not wish for your child to be considered for our General Excellence Program then you may wish to consider putting another school as your first choice and Rowville Secondary College as your second choice.

A simple guide for parents/guardian seeking information on how to enrol their Grade 6 child in a secondary school:

The Department of Education and Training (DET) provides government schools with a timeline for the Transition to Year 7 enrolment process.

  1. When your child is in Grade 6, your Primary School will issue the ‘Transition to Year 7’ application form and information, late in Term 1 or at the start of Term 2 of the Grade 6 year.
  2. Parents must complete this form, and then return it to your Primary School, by the due date.
  3. Primary Schools will then forward all applications to the relevant secondary school in accordance with the Department of Education and Training guidelines.
  4. Mid-August is when families will receive notification from the Primary School, advising what secondary school your child has a place at, for the coming year.

Year 8-12 enrolment

Families wishing to apply for enrolments into Years 8-12, or during a school year at all levels, are invited to complete an expression of interest form which can be found within the individual Academy enrolment page.
