We cater for a vast range of instruments and voice, and encourage, motivate, inspire and guide our students to achieve their best through individual and ensemble-based learning.
Our team of professional musicians and teachers provide a wide range of experiences to launch students into further musical study, and on to professional and rewarding careers in the music industry. At the same time, all students involved in the program benefit from the social aspects of our extra-curricular program, and enhance their academic achievements.

- Language & Math Skills
- Social Skills & many other benefits.
bands & ensembles
The Instrumental Music Department at Rowville Secondary College has a proud tradition of providing a bands and ensembles program for all students who learn an instrument at the school. Our bands and ensembles rehearse on a weekly basis and perform regularly at school events and in the local community. Our ensembles also participate in local festivals, competitions and attend music camps and state tours.
All students learning an instrument (except piano) are to participate in a least one ensemble and this will be determined on ability level and instrument.
- Junior Concert Band (Year 7 & other beginner students)
- Intermediate Concert Band
- Senior Concert Band
- Big Band (students must also be in a concert band)
- Senior Stage Band
- Guitar Ensemble
All students commit to attend weekly rehearsals and any performances for the ensembles they participate in for the entire year.
