At the beginning of Term 1 our Year 7 students headed to The Ranch in Cape Schanck for an exciting three-day adventure camp.
Throughout the camp, students challenged themselves on obstacle courses, conquered the Big Swing and Flying Fox, enjoyed horse riding and participated in a range of team-building activities. They also had time to relax with games, a movie night and downtime with their new friends.
Year 7 Camp is a valuable part of our transition program, helping students build confidence, strengthen friendships, connect with teachers and step outside their comfort zones as they begin their secondary school journey.
The Ranch staff visited students once we were back at school for a wellbeing reflection where they drew on their learnings on camp and how they would apply them at school, specifically empathy for others and kindness – traits which are embedded in our school values of respect and community.
A big thank you to our Transition Teachers and staff for organising such a memorable experience, and to our Year 7 students who represented the College so positively and embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm.
