Admittance to RIA is by audition and interview only.

We encourage everyone who feels they can fulfill the selection criteria to apply. Please note that not all applicants will be accepted.

All candidates, regardless of specialism, are assessed against the following criteria

RIA students demonstrate:

  • A highly developed artistic ability in at least one field, either performing or visual arts.
  • A positive attitude and commitment to academic study
  • A positive attitude and commitment to the development of skills in their chosen artistic field
  • A strong desire to pursue their passion for the arts
  • A high level of commitment and motivation in pursuit of personal success

Applications are made to RIA in writing and should contain the following:

  • The completed Student Application Form (included in application package)
  • The student’s last report card
  • Details of competitions, awards or productions the students have participated in/received
  • A 150 word report written by the student detailing why he/she would like to be accepted into the program.

Important Dates

We have conducted our main audition sessions for 2020 enrolment, however there will be further auditions scheduled in September.

If you would still like to apply for a place in 2020, details are included in the RIA Information/Application pack. Written applications should be sent in as soon as possible, and no later than the 3rd September.
